Peter Bruhn Redefines the Lowercase 'g' |
What the font?!? "Ever seen a font you like but couldn’t identify it? I once knew an Art Director who seemed to be able to identify just about any font I showed him. However, in recent years, even he responds with a “I don’t have a clue”. So where to turn? Well, rather than publishing my Art Director friend’s email address here, I’ll introduce a few resources to get you started. Although none of the following resources is infallible, they will definitely give you a head start." |
Doubled Last Supper might be something But probably not. Even Da Vinci, genius that he was, could not have conceived of this while painting it. But as it is, and slightly an old story, but for all you Code freaks, it's an interesting theory. |
Lost Formats Sick little page from Experimental Jet Set, group of guys from Amsterdam (check the info page too, worth the read) that catalogs different media formats in simple outlined forms. |
A4 vs US Letter How and why the U.S. uses letter paper (8.5x11), and most of the rest of the world uses A4 (8.26x11.69)...in short, the metric system strikes again. |
the Greastest first page ever written. "Now if I could only find page two. Oddly, it's not on the back of page one. This may be because this was an editor's copy or even the author's original. All I know is I have to know what happens next." |
A plea for designers to not take that shitty logo job which pays $100, and the reasons behind it...."Great Design is not stuffing 10 lbs of shit into a 5 lb bag"
And now for some T-shirts: The first is a British group that does what you see below, in a variety of motifs. I'm not gonna comment on the shirt quality (Gildan brand) or the exchange rate of pounds to dollars (2 to 1). The second has a slick look, slick flash site, and is all about designers=rock. And the third takes shirts you see in your favorite movies and makes them a reality, and nothing even close to the formerly ubiquitous "vote for pedro" in terms of exposure. And the fourth? the fourth is teh yes.
